Have you tried the sous-vide method of cooking steak?
Sous-vide is a French term meaning ‘under vacuum’. At its core it’s the process of sealing food and then cooking it in temperature-controlled water. With sous-vide, the food cooks in its juices ensuring that the food is always moist, juicy and tender. As an addition, because heat is controlled by you the results are consistent time and time again.
Did you know all our vacuum sealing bags can be used for Sous-vide?
Why sous-vide steak?
Simply, because it’s the most reliable way to get perfectly cooked meat every single time!
How to sous-vide your steak
Enjoy the juiciest steak by following these steps:
- Vacuum seal your preferred meat using a vacuum sealer. See our range here
- Submerge the vacuumed bags completely in the water (sometimes they’ll float and you’ll have to weigh or pin them down), and don’t crowd them or let them overlap; you want maximum surface area exposed to water so that the food in the bags cooks thoroughly.
- It’s very important that the recipe is strictly followed. Pay careful attention to the ingredients and temperature.
- Download the Sous Vide app on your phone or tablet – this can be very helpful to determine the exact temperature and time for the meat to be the most flavoursome, tender and juicy.
- When the sous vide process is finished, you might want to chargrill your meat to add a bit of colour and smokiness.
Sous-vide is a simple method of cooking that almost always guarantees great results. Fancy yourself as a bit of chef? Then a vacuum sealer is a must-have.
